WWII US ARMY M1 CARBINE MAGAZINE POUCH 1943

This is an original American WW2 M1 Carbine Rifle magazine/ammo pouch that fits right on the gun stock. 

This will hold two 15 round magazines. This is maker marked and dated 1943 however the marks are too faded to see who the maker was.  As there was well over 30 makers of M1 pouches it would be hard to guess.

There are two main types of M1 pouches. The early "stock" type pouches, which in addition to wearing on a G.I. belt can be slipped on the stock of an M-1 rifle.

The other type of pouches are the "belt" type which can only be worn on a G.I. belt as these are a little larger.
