US WW2 5TH ARMY PATCH - ORIGINAL
The United States Fifth Army North (ARNORTH) was first activated on January 5, 1943, in Oujda, French Morocco under the command of Lieutenant General Wayne Clark. It was principally a formation of the U.S. Army in the Mediterranean during WWII. It was made responsible for the defence of Algeria and Morocco. It was also given responsibility for planning the U.S. part of the Italian mainland invasion. The 5th Army North was the first American field army to be activated outside of the U.S.
Their insignia for this division is red with the letter 'A' and number '5' in white in the centre. It measures approximately 6cm wide and 6.5cm high.
