These are American Optical Company Nocturnal vision goggles from 1943. These goggles were used to acclimatize the wearer's eyes for nighttime flying.

Simple folding leather frame with 'fur' trim and red celluloid lenses.

Webbing and elastic strap with basic clasp fittings. The lenses still have their protective paper covering. Specification No. 3142, Order No. (33-038)
