WW2 GERMAN AFRICA COCONUT CANTEEN WITH HARNESS M-31 H.R.E. 42

This is an original WW2 German Wehrmacht DAK soldier’s canteen in excellent condition.

Comes with original canvas straps with metal clasp ( marked Patent Ritter),  Bakelite lid and markings on the metal tip of the canvas strap (H S B in a circle).

It bears the Deutsche Reich Patent (DRP) mark and D.R.G.M. (Deutsches Reich Gebrauchsmuster) German Reich registered design markings.

Used by the DAK African troops and Wehrmacht during WWII. The German M31 type canteen has maker mark  H.R.E. 42 (Heinrich Ritter, Esslingen).

The leather strap sewn to the canvas strap is broken but still has the buckle.
