Kingdom of Saxony. Friedrich August Medal, bronze.Circular bronze medal with laterally-pierced loop for ribbon suspension; the face with the crowned cipher of King Frederick Augustus III within a laurel wreath; the reverse inscribed ‘Friedrich August Medaille’, correct ribbon.
This medal was instituted on 23 April 1905 and was the most widely awarded war decoration of the Kingdom of Saxony.

King Friedrich August III was the last King of Saxony, reigning from 1904 until 1918. He was born Friedrich August Johann Ludwig Karl Gustav Gregor Philipp on May 25, 1865, in Dresden, Kingdom of Saxony, now in the German state of Saxony, the eldest son of King Georg of Saxony and Infanta Maria Ana of Portugal.
