U.S. WW2 UNISSUED HAWLEY PAPER M1 HELMET LINER RARE ORIGINAL

This is a US 2nd pattern Hawley M1 Helmet liner

These were made of pressed paper, which proved to have limited durability and most of these liners did not survive the war.

This liner is dented and wrinkled as shown in the images. It looks to be unissued and was stored improperly.

Some ingenious person can maybe get the shape back with some kind of helmet mold. Possibly slowing reshaping it by spraying some water on it while on the mold, as it is just pressed paper.

This rare Hawley liner retains all of the original suspension inside and the suspension is in mint condition.

The shape and characteristics of the Hawley liner were identical to those of their fiberglass counterpart.
