JAPANESE MEIJI PATTERN ARMY ENLISTED MAN CANTEEN

This is an original small Japanese Meiji Pattern Army Enlisted Man canteen with carrying frame and strap. 

This was an early aluminum bodied canteen developed under the reign of Emperor Meiji and issued up until the 1930’s.
It is a water canteen that is cylindrical with a brown overpaint and leather suspension harness and strap.

Comes with leather strap . But strap is hanging on by a thread on one side and broken on the other side.

Have seen leather repaired before so maybe possible to re attach it.
