MAGAZINE FOR THE MP41 SCHMEISSER, HAENEL SUB-MACHINIE GUN - ORIGINAL
This Schmeisser MP41(Maschinenpistole) sub-machine gun magazine is an original magazine. It's in very good original condition, nicely marked with Waffenamt stamps.
This also fits the MP40.
This MP41 magazine has been converted to 5 rounds as per Canadian law.
The MP41, designed by Hugo Schmeisser of C.G. Haenel Company, is normally described as a combination between the MP28/II and the MP40. Schmeisser combined the receiver, action and magazine of the MP-40 making the magazine interchangeable with the MP40, with the stock and mechanisms of the MP28. By late 1941 the Erma company filed a patent infringement lawsuit against the Haenel company which forced Haenel to stop production of the MP41 so only 26,000 were made during WWII.
The MP 41 was not used as a service weapon but saw limited used by some SS and police units.
