MAGAZINE FORR MASCHINENPISTOLE 40 (MP40) GUN - ORIGINAL

This is an original German MP40 magazine for the German Maschinenpistole 40 (MP40) sub-machine gun.  
 
Nicely marked with Waffenamt, maker "kur" and dated 1943.
Steyr-Daimler Puch AG Werk Graz, Austria: "kur"
Used, good condition. Converted to 5 rounds as required by Canadian law.
 
The MP40 was developed by Nazi Germany and used extensively during WWII.  It was very popular among the soldiers due to it's modern and advanced features, including soldiers for many other countries who used it.  

Though it was often call "Schmeisser" by the Allies, it was not designed by the famous Hugo Schmeisser who designed teh MP18.   It was desgned by Heinrich Vollmer in 1938 and manufacturered by Erma Werke who produced approximately 1.1. million during the war.
