LUFTWAFFE GERMAN WW2 RING - REPRODUCTION
This is a German WWII Luftwaffe silver ring. The ring is made of sterling silver, die struck. Red hot purple enamel. Two piece construction.
After WW1 when the Germans signed the Treaty of Versailles in 1919 Germany was banned from having any air force at all.
However after WWI Germany trained pilots in secret in direct violation of the treaTy at the Lipetsk Air Base in the Soviet Union and the Luftwaffe became the aerial-warfare branch of the German Wehrmacht.
With the rise of the Nazi party, finally the Luftwaffe's existence was finally acknowledged by the German in February, 1935.
By the time WW2 broke out in September 1939 the Luftwaffe had become one of the most sophisticated, technologically advanced, and battle-experienced air forces in the world.
The Luftwaffe was instrumental in the German battle victories across Western Europe and Poland in 1939 and 1940.
