GERMAN WW2 DOCUMENT KLEINER ARIERNACHWEIS (LESSER ARYAN CERTIFICATE) Kleiner  - ORIGINAL

This is an original German WW2 Kleiner Ariernachweis, proof of pure Aryan Race ancestry document also known as a "Blood Document".  Showing proof that the recipient is of Aryan Blood and not of Jewish dissent.  Signed and dated 1941.  Held by Kurt Pretysch, born January 7, 1920.

This document list the name, birth date, place of birth and religion of the recipient also including his professional standing, place of residence, etc.  Importantly this form must include family line information on both of his parents and in this case including 4 Grandparents of both the mother and fathers side.  Including their names, birth dates, religion, etc.

On the bottom of the form it reads:
“Through this form, that Kurt Pretysch has proved his Aryan Descent back to his grandparents.”

Starting in April 1933, the Nazi’s required that all of its employees and officials of the public sector be of “Aryan Race”. Hence the need for an Aryan certificate or passport which was a document that certified that the person was indeed a member of the Aryan Race.  It was also required to become a Reich citizen after the Nuremberg Laws were passed in 1935.

There were two main types of documents:
     1.    Kleiner Ariernachweis (Small/Lesser Aryan certificate).  When applying for this document the person was required to provide 7 birth or baptism certificates (or a combination of both) for the person, his parents and grandparents along with 3 marriage certificates (parents and grandparents) or certified proofs of a Ahnentafel, a certified genealogy table. This was appropriate enough for public sector officials and employees.
     2.    Großer Ariernachweis (Greater Aryan certificate).  This was a require compliance for all members of the Nazi Party.  In addition to the above birth and marriage certificates a certificate that traced the family pedigree back to the year 1800.  For an SS Officer this pedigree had to go back to 1750.  This certificate was to prove that “none of their paternal or maternal ancestors had Jewish or colored blood.”
