GENERAL FELDMARSCHALL ERICH VON MANSTEIN RIBBON BAR - REPRODUCTION
This is the reconstructed ribbon bar of Generalfeldmarschall Erich von Manstein with pin.

Erich von Lewinski, known by his adopted name Erich von Manstein, was born Nov 24, 1887. Von Manstein was regarded as one of the most brilliant German generals in WW2. He was known for being Hitler's strategist. He was famous for his fighting in Russia and his 1939-40 proposals for the offensive plan against France.
Manstein was also known to sometimes oppose Hitler, including his opposition of the retreat following the Battle of Kursk.
After the war, he was tried for war crimes and in 1949 Manstein was sentenced to 18 years in prison, but only served 12 years. Upon release from prison in 1953 he became a military advisor to the Federal Republic of Germany.
He died June 9, 1973.
