AMERICAN CIGARETTE PACKAGES REPRODUCTION - LUCKY STRIKE OR CAMEL

These are packages of reproduction American “cigarettes”.  There is actually no tobacco in the package it is a wood block with a WW2 wrapper, cellophane outer wrapper and tear strip.

You receive one package.  You can pick either Camel or Lucky Strikes.

The army didn’t necessarily use one brand for rations, instead cigarettes came in sample packs of different brands, with the most common being Chesterfields.  

Tobacco companies specifically targeted the troops stating that they used “personalities associated with the war” such as test pilot “Red” Hulse4.

As the saying goes, there’s no time like joe time, and during World War II, no cigarette was more iconic than Lucky Strike Cigarettes.

Soldiers had been rationed 4 cigarettes a day during WWI. In WWII authorities also saw tobacco as a necessity to the maintenance of fighting men, and actually added cigarettes into their daily K-rations giving them a four pack per meal or a total of 12 per day.
