BRITISH 1903 LEATHER FIVE POCKET BANDOLIER P1903 P-1903
PATTERN 1903 50 ROUND MARK I BANDOLIER - REPRODUCTION
Officially designated as "Bandoliers for Mounted Infantry" the P1903 five pocket 50 round bandolier was intended to carry 10 clips each of 5 rounds, two to a pocket.
The P-1903 bandolier is brown leather with five pockets and a steadying strap, 2 buckles and runner. The steadying strap was used for securing the bandolier to the waist belt, so it wouldn't bounce around when riding.
The Bandolier was introduced in 1903 for use in conjunction with the newly adopted charger-loading SMLE rifle ("Short, Magazine Lee-Enfield").
Measures 46 inches maximum length, adjustable to smaller sizes and is genuine leather construction, copper rivets and brass fixtures.
Used prominently in WWI and again in WWII.
