Fallen Soldiers
Fallen Soldiers Etched into the Sand on Normandy Beach
to Commemorate Peace Day on September 25, 2013
What a beautiful tribute to the fallen English Soldiers at Gold and Sword Beach from WW11 at Normandy, France.
A set of British Artists, Jamie Wardley and Andy Moss with volunteers, set out to create a temporary installation on the sands at Arromanches, Normandy, France, titled The Fallen 9000. They hand stenciled 9,000 fallen soldiers in the sand. Word spread and nearly 500 local residents also came to help the artists.
Great photo's below. Unfortunately the installation only lasted a few hours as it was washed away at high tide.
