AMERICAN WW2 PARATROOPER GARRISON CAP BADGE - ORIGINAL
AMERICAN WW2 PARATROOPER GARRISON CAP BADGE - ORIGINAL
Worn by both Airborne Divisions the 101st and the 82nd. This light blue patch, with a white parachute, was the early Infantry cap patch that was first used on the D-Day landings. This is an original patch and is in good used condition with light wear.
This patch can be worn on either side of the overseas cap. The right side was for Officers and the left side was for Enlisted Men. This could also be used as a sleeve patch.
Both the 82th and the 101st were airborne divisions fighting in WWII. The 101st was trained for air assault operations and was first formed in 1918. They are also known as the “Screaming Eagles” and their motto is “Rendezvous with Destiny”. The 82nd specialized in parachute assault operations and was first formed in 1917. They are also known as the “All American Division” and their motto is “All the Way!”
This is a one of a kind item and you will receive the exact one photographed. This was picked up in Normandy this year for D-Day celebrations.
